The till that replaces your sales book

Sell, count stock and track every expiry date on the phone or laptop you already have, even through load shedding.

Works with what your counter already has

  • Cash with change
  • Airtel Money
  • MTN MoMo
  • Zamtel Kwacha
  • Android phones
  • Windows laptops
  • iPhone
  • 58 mm receipt printers
  • Barcode scanners
  • Stock from a spreadsheet
  • No connection

What the sales book can't tell you

Sunga keeps the same record as your book, sale by sale. Then it answers the questions a book never could.

How much did we take today?
With the book: Add up the pages after closing.
With Sunga: Counted as you sell, split into cash, Airtel Money, MTN MoMo and Zamtel Kwacha.
What expires this month?
With the book: Found on the shelf, often too late.
With Sunga: Every batch carries its expiry date. The report lists what is due and what it cost you.
What do we need to order?
With the book: A walk round the shelves.
With Sunga: Set a reorder point for each product and read the restock list.
Who sold this, and when?
With the book: Whoever's handwriting it is.
With Sunga: Every sale, refund and stock change carries a name and a time.

Made for the pharmacy counter

Expiry dates you can see coming

Every batch carries its expiry date. The till sells the one that expires first, refuses expired stock, and the report shows what is at risk in kwacha.

The stock risk report: batches expiring within 30 days, valued at cost, and the low-stock list

Cash and mobile money

Change worked out for cash. For Airtel Money, MTN MoMo and Zamtel Kwacha, the customer's reference stays on the sale.

Taking an MTN MoMo payment on a phone: the total due and the customer's reference number

The day already counted

The end-of-day report splits takings by payment method, ready to check against the cash drawer and the mobile money statements.

The takings report: today's takings, the 30-day trend and the Z-report by payment method

Stock you can explain

Deliveries, sales, write-offs and corrections all go through one stock ledger, so every number on the shelf has a history.

The inventory list: each product with its batches, stock on hand, nearest expiry, status and price
Everything else Sunga does

At the counter

  • Find a medicine by brand, generic name or barcode
  • Receipts on 58 mm Bluetooth printers, or any printer through the browser
  • Refunds and voids need a reason, and put the stock back
  • Controlled medicines sold only by the staff you allow
  • Standard-rated, zero-rated and exempt VAT on every receipt

In the back office

  • Opening stock loaded from a spreadsheet, checked row by row
  • Deliveries booked in with batch, expiry, cost and supplier
  • Owner, pharmacist and cashier roles, or roles of your own
  • More than one branch under one pharmacy account
  • A login for every person, so every change has a name on it

Load shedding doesn't close the till

Sunga is built for the power cuts a Zambian counter lives with. Selling never waits on the network.

  1. The till with no connection: a notice says selling continues normally and one sale is queued to sync

    The power goes

The router drops and the till carries on. The catalogue and the stock are already on the phone.

  2. A completed sale while offline: saved on this device, it will sync when the connection is back

Every sale is kept on the phone

Charge works as it always does. The sale is saved on the device before anything else, so it can't be lost.

  3. The till back online, the next sale already in the cart

    Back online, it sends itself

Queued sales go to the server in the order they were rung up, each exactly once, and the numbers catch up.

The owner's dashboard: today's takings, transactions, low stock and expiring batches, the takings chart and the restock list

On the counter, or from home

No special till to buy. Staff sell on a phone or laptop at the counter, and the owner opens the same account at home to see the day's takings and what needs ordering.

  • An Android phone

With Chrome. Add Sunga to the home screen like an app.

  • A Windows laptop

With Chrome or Edge, and a barcode scanner if you have one.

  • An iPhone

Works too, and prints through the browser.

  • A receipt printer, if you like

Any 58 mm Bluetooth thermal printer, or none at all.

Selling on Sunga in two days

Pilot pharmacies get us at the counter, not a manual. A monthly price is agreed before the pilot ends, and you only carry on if Sunga has earned it.

  1. Day 1

    We set up your pharmacy

Your account, a login for each person, your shop details and VAT, and your receipt printer if you have one.

  2. Days 1 and 2

    Your stock goes in

From your spreadsheet, or counted shelf by shelf with us. Every batch with its expiry date and cost.

  3. Day 2

    Your team learns the till

About an hour at the counter at a quiet time: sales, refunds, deliveries, the day's report, and power cuts.

  4. Weeks 1 and 2

    Sunga runs beside the book

Keep the book for two weeks and compare each evening. We visit weekly, and you decide at the end whether to carry on.

Built around Zambian rules

ZRA Smart InvoiceComing next

Not connected yet. Connecting Sunga to Smart Invoice is next on our list, and we will tell you exactly where it stands before you start.

Controlled medicines

Mark a product's schedule and only the staff you allow can sell it. A sale by anyone else is flagged for the owner.

VAT worked out for you

Set your rate and whether prices include VAT. Products can be standard-rated, zero-rated or exempt.

No patient data

Sales are anonymous by design: no customer names, no phone numbers and nothing about what a medicine is for.

Questions pharmacists ask

Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp

Yes, for selling. The till keeps your catalogue and stock on the device and saves every sale there first, then sends them when the connection returns. The first sign-in on a new device needs a connection, and so do receiving stock, reports and settings.

Count every sale, starting tomorrow

Tell us your pharmacy's name on WhatsApp and we will come and show you the till at your own counter.
